Availability
Local transcription is available on Apple Silicon Macs: M1, M2, M3, M4, and newer. Intel Macs are supported by the app, but local WhisperKit transcription is unavailable there.
Audio privacy
In local mode, audio does not leave your Mac. VoiceToPrompt records speech, sends it to local WhisperKit, and receives text on device.
Model choice
Tiny and Base are faster, Small is often a practical balance, and Medium, Turbo, and Large v3 can improve quality but require more resources.
